How does it work?

Talk Place+ real voice chat works like text chat, the only difference is in the method of message input. You simply record your voice message ( up to 30 seconds ) - edit if you want - and send, NO more long and tedious typing. Voice chat control panel allows you to exchange voice messages with one or more users in the same time, create group voice chat or search for new friends and start voice chatting. Of course, for longer conversations you can use "Call" function and talk to people worldwide. More instructions on how to use the "Voice chat" function can be found in the FAQ.

In the app "Search" function, you can type in topic, choose the language together with category / subcategory, country, age, gender, etc. and then press the "Search individual users" button. Afterwards, the application processes this data to find and provide you with a list of the most suitable users available. You can then add user to app contacts list and try to establish new contact, call or send a voice chat message or text message.

Please note:

Before using the app and "Voice chat", "Search", "Messages", "Contacts", "Call".... and many other functions, read instructions in the FAQ. Without reading the instructions and advice's maybe you will not use all the functions and capabilities of the application.

Currently, many beta test users who did not update a new version of the app ( with voice chat function ) are shown as offline. With app version update, they will also be visible as online. Also, many ( frequently offline ) users use app for privacy protected calls/chat only with their best friends, family or partners. App and users community are new and you are more than free and welcome in inviting your friends and acquaintances to Talk Place+.

About Talk Place+ app

After app installation, you will be asked for symbolic endorsement ( to app developers ) and share small app logo/image using your Facebook, Twitter or Linkedin account. We will ask for that action ONLY once and we'll not link, memorize, store, share or use any details of your social account, so your privacy is 100% protected. After this action you'll be redirected to fill out the registration form. Choose any user / nick name, password, and set up some basic info about your country, language, interest categories / subcategories, ages group and gender ( every new user also provides optional information's about topics of personal interest and few other information's). Using only your user / nick name, Talk Place app will 100% protect your privacy. You can register up to 3 different accounts and "ultra" protect your privacy ( more details ).

During registration process each user can set up to 3 topics and categories/subcategories ( areas of interest ). You can edit your profile/profiles anytime, including topics and categories/subcategories which allow you to constantly change topics / categories / subcategories that interest you. In this way Talk Place app makes it possible for a certain user to both search for, and be found by all other registered users of the app, with the same or similar interests.

Of course, you can have your friends in your ( Talk Place+ ) contacts list and chat ( voice or text ) / call anytime. Read more details, in the FAQ, about how to find and add in contacts your friends or the right people.

People to talk with

If you want perform voice chat or call & talk with your friends or contacts and protect your privacy, invite them to Talk Place and add each other to contacts ( instructions in FAQ ). It's easy to save in app all your contacts ( Talk Place users ), while on the other hand, you can block any unwanted callers or users ... read more in FAQ. Of course, you can also use "Search" function and find users according to common interests or topics.

Why should you talk to the “strangers” about the topics of your interest?

There are so many people who have had interesting experiences when chatting / talking to strangers, be it on a bus, on the plane, on internet forum / social network or at a concert …etc. On Talk Place+ app you could meet the people you do not know, but you share the same interest / topic with. Even if you do not know these people, you will be able to easily start a conversation, ask a question, ask for advice or information...

Topics and Categories

Talk Place application will offer you a lot of interesting topics in different categories and subcategories ( list ) but if you can’t find the right category / subcategory for some topic you can always choose the category 'other'. Also, you can find a list of the top requested category / subcategory or topics of interest ( in the last two weeks ) and you will almost always find other interesting people to talk to.

PLEASE NOTE:

Talk Place+ app can only be used when your mobile device is connected to WiFi or / and 3G / 4G mobile data network.

Depending of network and signal strength, your call will ring immediately or with about one to six second delay while establishing a network connection. Please remember to be patient if there seems to be a lag or delay. In case you are on a low quality WiFi / 3G / 4G network, switch from usual phone call / talk function to a voice chat system.

If you want to be contacted by other users, stay online / logged in to the app.

Recommended - when you first time try to contact unknown user, first send a voice or text message ( contact invitation ) before calling users. Online users will receive messages immediately. Offline users will receive messages the next time they sign in to Talk Place.

Do I need to give any personal information during the registration?

NO. You can choose any username or nick name. Using only your user / nick name, Talk Place app will 100% protect your privacy. In the registration form, app will ask for a few things about you ( your country, language, age group and gender ). Every new user also provides information about interests category /subcategory, topics and a few other things. Of course, if you want, try to fill in the relevant details about your interests, though people may find you when they search for people with the same interests – after all, that's why you are both using Talk Place+ app. If you are willing to add a few extra personal details (profession, personal description, etc.), that is an option too.

You can register for up to three different accounts and "ultra" protect your privacy even within the app. For example, you can use one account to talk to your friends, another to talk to other Talk Place users, and another one for talking with your partners, etc..

Recovering a lost or forgotten password

Please keep your registration password in a safe place, because we do not store passwords on our server to protect your privacy. Your password is stored on your phone and only you will know it. If you can't access your account simply register new profile username/nickname. For privacy protection, the Talk Place app does not even keep call logs on your phone.

How do I start using Talk Place+ app?

If you first time install app, fill in the registration form. After sign in, always wait about 30 - 60 seconds until app establish networks connections, before call or send voice / text messages. Than, if you are new user FIRST add users to your "Contacts" list using "Search" function ( details how to use "Search" function find below in Q & A ). In "Contacts" list you can click on username and open Quick Action tool with "Voice Chat", "Call", "Text" and "Profile" icons.

How do I use "Voice chat" function?

1. If this is your first time useing voice chat, on Home screen click and open “Contacts” list or you can use the “Search” option to find users. In both of these cases long click on any user "field" on the list and the “Quick Action” tool will be activated. Click on the “Voice chat” icon and open "Voice chat with" screen, with "Record & send voice message" button.

2. If you have previously sent or received voice messages click on the "Voice Chat" button on the Home screen, open a new screen "Voice chat listing" with the list of individual users. Here you can also choose "Group voice chat" function if you want to send voice message to the group.

3. If you want to send / listen voice message to / from the user, click on user's "field" on the list and open "Voice Chat with" screen with the list of sent / received messages.

How do I use "Voice Chat with" screen?

On this screen, voice messages ( received or sent ) that have not yet been played ( on your or recipient phone ) have "red light" sign. Click on the "play" symbol to listen to them. If you want to delete voice message, select the message "field" on the list, long click and the “Quick Action” tool will be activated, with the "Remove" button. Please note: for privacy protection, on your phone will be saved last 20 received or sent voice messages, older will be automatically removed.

For more options on users list select a user's name "field", long click and the “Quick Action” tool will be activated with buttons for "Call", "Profile" and "Remove" options.

How do I record and send a "voice chat" message?

Record message: open the "Voice chat listing" screen ( instructions above ), click on the user name, open a new screen "Voice Chat with" and click on the "Record & send voice message".

"Recording state" management:

Click on the "Record" button and start with recording. If you are satisfied with the recorded message, click on the "Stop & send" button and send message. During message recording ( up to 30 sec. ) you have 2 options:

1. Short click on the "Pause" button if you need more time to think about what to say. The "Pause" button will change into "Record" button. Click on the "Record" again to continue recording your message. During message recording you can several times pause and continue with recording.

2. Long click on the "Pause" button to stop recording. Once you long click on the "Pause" button, it will change into "Play" button and stop the recording so then it will jump into "Playing state".

"Playing state" management:

Click on the "Play" button to start playing your messsage. Once you click on the "Play" button, it will change into "Pause" button and start playing your message..

During message playing you have two options:

1. Short click on the "Pause" button to pause the playing. Once you click the "Pause" button, it will change into "Play" button and pause the message playing. Click on the "Play" again to continue with playing recorded message.

2. Long click on "Pause" button to stop playing. Once you long click on the "Pause" button, it will change into "Play" button and set the message listening to the start.

If you are satisfied with the recorded message, click on the "Stop & Send" button and send message.

If you want to delete a recorded message and record a new one, click on the android "back" button on your phone to start recording a new message. Click on the android "back" button two times if you want leave "Recording state" and go back to user's "Voice chat" screen or user's listing screen.

Recommended: when recording / listening to voice message, place the phone near your mouth / ear and the app will turn off display and significantly save battery life.

How do I record and send a "Group voice chat" message?

Open the "Voice Chat listing" screen ( instructions above ), click on the "Group voice chat" button and open screen with "group names" list. Click on the "Create group" button to create a new "group name". For privacy protection, each user need to create his own "group name" on his phone and add members to a group but ( recommended ) try to synchronize with your "group friends" the same "group name" and members in this group.

To send voice message to the group click on the "group name" and open new screen "Voice Chat with group" with the "group name" and group members list. Click on the "Record & send voice message" button, open new screen and use the "Record" instructions above to record, edit and send voice message.

If you want, long click on selected user and the “Quick Action” tool will be activated, with the "Voice chat", "Call", "Text", "Profile" and "Block" buttons.

How do I add a new member to a group?

On the "Voice Chat With Group" screen click on the "Edit group" button, open new screen and your app "Contacts" list will be opened. Check users checkbox on contacts list and click on the "Save" button to add users to a group or uncheck if you want delete users from group and also confirm with the "Save" button..

How do I call the other user(s)?

First, you can use your own list of app “Contacts”. In addition, you can use the “Search” option in the way described below. Long press on any user "field" and in both of these cases the “Quick Action” tool will be activated. Click on the “Call” button. After you see the new "Call screen", click again on “Call” and wait for the person you have chosen to answer your call.

Please check if you are on good signal strength WiFi / 3G / 4G / network before calling, it is important for excellent voice quality and correct connections. Avoid using 2G / EDGE network for calls. If you are ( or person you call ) on 2G / EDGE network, voice quality may be low and with disturbances or you ( or person you call ) will NOT hear ringing ( only silence on phone earpiece ), so callee can't answer on your call.

Recommended: end a call / conversation by clicking on the "End call" button ( caller and callee ).

How do I add user(s) to Talk Place app contacts?

First, you can use the “Search” option in the way described below and click on "Search Individual Users". When you find the person you want to contact / talk to, long press on his or her name and the “Quick Action” tool will be activated. Then click on the button "Add to contacts" ( on the far right side of QA tool ).

How do I add friends to Talk Place app contacts?

Ask your friend for his/her user / nick name ( and language ) set in Talk Place app. Use "Search" function, chose your friend language and type your friend's user / nick name in field "Find Talk Place+ users by user / nick name". When you find friend's user / nick name in search results, long press on it and the “Quick Action” tool will be activated. Then click on the button "Add to contacts" ( on the far right side of QA tool ). Ask your friend to do the same and add you to his/her contacts.

"Search" function: how do I find the right people to chat / talk to ?

Each Talk Place user, during the registration process, inputs some of the basic criteria related to his or her interests, topics and preferences. Based on these criteria - language, country, category, topic ( min. 4 letters word or few words ) .....etc..., by using the “Search” option, app users automatically are in a position to find each other. You can determine the number of available users for conversation through the appropriate use of “Search” criteria. Only "Language" is an obligatory criteria in the "Search" function, in other words, with more “Search” criteria used the more you can narrow down the number of more accurately assessed potential users with similar interests. Consequently, if you do not include appropriate search parameters, you will likely find you are offered too many contacts who are not totally matched to your specific requirements.

This application will do all the hard work for you by searching while using all your search criteria. Click on the “Search” option and set your criteria. For example, if you want to talk to some girl from the United States about “Lady Gaga new dress” set the following criteria accordingly:  Choose Country -> United States  Choose Language -> English  Search Topic (type) -> lady gaga new dress  Choose Gender -> Female. After you have done this, choose the following options:  Search Individual Users. When you find the person you want to chat / talk to, press on his or her "field" and the “Quick Action” tool will be activated. Then choose buttons "Voice chat", "Call" or. "Text".

What should you do if you cannot find as many users as you had originally hoped for?

All you have to do is to simply broaden your search. In this way you will increase the number of users to whom you can talk to. Here is an example based on the previous one:  Choose Language -> English  Search Topic (Type) -> lady gaga. According to these new criteria you can expect to find more people who are happy to talk about Lady Gaga. They might be also interested in talking about her new dress as well.

You have found too many users to chat / talk to, what next?

In the previous example, you were advised to narrow your search criteria. Now, you should expand them. Here is a practical example how doing it:  Choose Country -> United States  Choose Language -> English  Search Topic (Type) -> Lady Gaga new dress  Choose Gender -> Female  Choose Age -> 18 – 20

What you can do when you cannot find someone to chat / talk about the topics you want to?

We expect that this may happen during the first weeks of the app's availability. In case you cannot find someone to discuss a topic with, you can use some of the following options, such as “Search Top Popular Categories” or “Search Top Popular Topics”. These options will allow you to choose among some of the most popular categories or topics during the last two weeks. Then, click on "Search individuals" and try to find new acquaintances or people who you share some similar interests with. Please note: You need to choose language before click on “Search Top Popular Categories” or “Search Top Popular Topics”, so application will display the results / users who use the language you selected ( p.ex. no benefit to showing you results for "Top Popular Topics" and list of users who speak the Korean language, if you speak French ).

Also, you can tell all your friends and acquaintances about the Talk Place application using the Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn links ( above ). After all, the more users, the more interesting people there will be for you to talk with.

You want to know more about the person you are about to chat / call / contact, what can you do next?

When you find someone you want to talk to / contact, press on his or her "field" and the “Quick Action” tool will be activated. Then click on the button “Profile” and the data you want to see will appear in the new screen. You will only be able to see the information the user has decided to include in his or her profile.

How do I send, reply or delete text message?

To send messages use the “Search” option in the way described above or you can use your own list of “Contacts”. Click on any user and in both of these cases the “Quick Action” tool will be activated. From the 'available' options click on “Text”. After you open the new ( text / message ) screen, type your message and click on “Send”. Online users will receive messages immediately or within short time ( depend of WiFi / 3G / 4G network ). Offline users will receive messages next time they sign in Talk Place.

Share images / files using Dropbox, Copy.com or ..... links in text message and protect privacy. Only the user who knows the respective ( Dropboy, Copy.com ... ) Username and Password will be able to open the link.

If you receive invitation message from unknown user, you can click on it and reply right away or ( later ) open "Messages" in home menu and reply. Also, you can long click ( on the message ) and the “Quick Action” tool will be activated, so you can "Call" user, review user's "Profile", "Add to contacts" user or if you want delete message, click on "Remove".

PLEASE NOTE:

Regularly clean your old messages and protect privacy. Click on "Messages" in main menu, long click ( on the message ) and the “Quick Action” tool will be activated, with "Remove" button displayed.

The maximum number of characters for a text message sent to other Talk Place user is 500 ( ASCII, english ).

How do I "Block", "Unblock" or "Remove" a certain user from Contacts list?

On home page click on the "Contacts", open contacts list, long click on user and the “Quick Action” tool will be activated, with appropriate button for "Block" user. To remove someone from your contact list first click on "Block" button; the user will be moved to the bottom of the contact list, find user there, click one more time on user name and the “Quick Action” tool will be activated again, with "Unblock" or "Remove" button. If you click on "Remove" next time you'll open contacts list, the user will be removed from the contact list.

How do I use the Conference Call Option?

The conference call option will be available in the next version of the application. The next version will be automatically updated on your phone, so set this option in your settings.

WiFi or 3G / 4G network?

The voice quality depends on the quality of network reception that you get, but standard WiFi networks provide excellent voice quality. You can make calls and send texts via WiFi and it's all free! When you use the Talk Place application on a 3G / 4G network, you might incur operator data charges or internet access fees. One hour of conversation (using the Talk Place app) uses about 70 MB of bandwidth traffic. If you have a 1 GB internet plan it is enough for about 14 hours and 20 minutes’ conversation using Talk Place.

Please note, when you leave the WiFi network, the application needs 1 - 2 minutes to connect to the mobile network ( 3G/4G ). In this short period of time disturbances in voice quality or some application functions may occur. If the disturbances persist, simply sign out and sign in app again.

Please note that the application also runs on the EDGE/2G network, but you may expect a lower voice quality and disturbance in call connection.

Please note that if you use a business wide area network (WAN) in your company or organization, you may expect a lower voice quality and interference in call connection,.depending on WAN network congestion.

How important is the signal strength of the WiFi and 3G / 4G mobile networks?

The signal strength is very important but strength is not the same in all places where the user is currently. Sometime signal strength is very strong but sometimes its very weak. Try calling from places where signal strngth is ( minimum ) good, to avoid disturbances in voice quality. If you are calling someone ( online / green signal is shown ) and you do not hear ringing or the device displays the message “Callee ( or you ) use 2G network. Please use WiFi / 3G /4G/ network or try sign out / sign in app and call again or later, when callee or you, come to an area with a WiFi / 3G /4G, it is a sign that the user is at the point where the network signal is weak or very weak. Try your call again later, when the user is in an area with stronger signal.

Use Talk Place voice chat messages system and avoid interruptions and distractions in conversation ( usual on Viber, Skype ....etc.) when you have weak / low quality WiFi / 3G / 4G network signal. Talk Place+ voice chat messages system allows you to continue with excellent quality conversation even on a poor quality network, just switch from usual phone call / talk function to a voice chat system.

I do not have 3G / 4G mobile data plan, can I use Talk Place+?

Yes, you can make high quality voice calls and send voice / text messages through the use of a WiFi network, private or public.

Can I invite my friends to Talk Place+?

You can invite your friends to join up and get the Talk Place app as the more people there are means the more interesting people there will be for you to talk to. Simply send them www.talk-place.com

Can I use Talk Place+ for international calls and voice chat / text messages?

Yes, it doesn't matter whether you and other users are on the same city or in a different country, worldwide, you can talk and send voice chat / text messages as much as you want, for free*.

Please note: if you can't find your country / language on the list during registration process, please select "Other countries / languages" on the bottom of the list.

After you install the Talk Place app on your mobile phone you can use it worldwide, using private/public WiFi or 3G / 4G mobile network.

What to do if you have problems in application functionality?

Try to sign out and then back in to the app. If this procedure do not solve problem: 1. Sign out from app 2. Uninstall app 3. Turn off your mobile phone for 2 - 3 minutes 4. Turn on mobile phone 5. Download and install app from Google Play 6. Sign in with your existing username and password ( or new if you forgot old ).
